Artist Statement, CV and Bio

“The natural world has always captured my imagination.

The rich, golden sand of the coastal landscape. The azure and turquoise blues of the ocean near where I live. Secret worlds within the tidal pools, or the colours of a sunrise playing across the rock face on the seaside cliffs.

The emotions these scenes evoke are what inspire me to paint!

My style? A mixture of expressionism and abstraction.

My paintings are ‘about’ the coastal landscape and the sea. Emotions, thoughts, sounds and spiritual expression captured visually into abstract naturalism.

Naturally formed textures, rhythms, pattern and colour are what I look for, and the materials and the layering of specialised mixed media techniques reflect this.

I hope to connect the viewer visually and emotionally to the beauty of nature, that inspires, renews and restores the soul."
